The future of TV, everything’s getting really personal
(Article, June 2010)

To many people the first thing that springs to mind when we talk of digital TV is a higher quality visual experience. Actually, the arrival of digital TV delivers us with many advantages beginning with the fact that digital content can be delivered on more diversified platforms and most of all that digital TV allows for a much wider range of choice of viewing content than ever before. Review: Spicing Up Analytics
( March 2010)

The “Spicing Up Analytics” event was a big success this year.  The four analytics specialists invited focused on ‘the road from analytic insights to management awareness of the conclusions’.

The main conclusion, delivered by Wim Hellemans (ENQIO), was that analytics performance should be measured on business impact rather than on statistic excellence. A reality difficult to accept for many analytics experts.

Review: Mobile Marketing Forum
(April 2010)

This year’s Mobile Marketing Forum attracted a wide range of specialists and marketing managers. The main conclusions were:

-          The mobile phone is turning into a convergent platform combining  different technologies and resulting in applications such as ‘augmented reality’

-          Today all technologies and services are in place to promote mass adoption: 2010 is the year of mobile marketing

-          Getting a positive return on this platform is not always evident (case of the newspaper Le Soir)

Review: Netsci 2010
(May 2010)

The Netsci conference gathered all experts in the field of network analytics at the MIT University

The conference showed the progress made in the field of network analytics applied on social, medical and finance networks. The main advancement seen on social networks is the combination of human relationships and types of relationships with mathematical models allowing a better understanding on how, why, where and when people connect.  Just one of the ways in which these insights will help marketers is to better understand the true needs of individual customers.
